Because all the cool kids have them. Fanfic only here; anything original is friendslocked.

I make no claims to owning any of the characters used in my fanfic. I am making no money from writing these stories. (Or any other ones--chance would be a fine thing!)

So, my spn_summergen fic went up yesterday, and it's everything I could've hoped for. Whoever you are, anonymous author, I'd like to shower you with gratitude and cookies. ;)

Title: Haunted
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: ~3,000
Warnings: Canon character death; show-level violence
Summary: Linda Tran is a hunter on a mission.
Reccer's comments: I'm pretty much going to copypasta my comment from the story post, because I think that about sums it up:
I just love everything about this. How Linda is part pragmatic badass, part long-suffering mom. The grief she's not quite able to access, and that this acknowledges the trauma she's survived and how she needs Kevin and the mission to keep herself going. And I love her resourcefulness, and the fact that it's the everyday indignities of hunting that really make it miserable. The choice of monsters is great, too--I'd love to see them on the show!

But my favourite thing is what the story does with Linda and Kevin's relationship here. Kevin's just heartbreaking, so sad and weary and ready to let go at such a young age, but in many ways still very much a kid. And how Linda has to navigate her protectiveness and need to save him versus acknowledging what he knows and what he's already suffered is perfect. Ahh, my poor heart. ♥ ♥ ♥

Dear spn_summergen writer,

Hello! First off, THANK YOU for signing up and for writing a thing for me! I'm going to love whatever it is, and I hope you have fun with whatever prompt(s) tickle your fancy!

Speaking of which, I definitely think of them as jumping-off points rather than prescriptions, and hopefully you will, too. I will not be offended in the least if you want to take whichever part of a prompt appeals to you and discard the rest, or tweak it to suit, or combine more than one prompt into something I never would have thought of. :)

A look at my journal might convince you that all I want for Christmas SummerGen is angst -- and I do love it, I love it goood -- but I'm also happy reading a lot of stuff that I don't write. Humour, casefic, fluff -- it's all good!

Dean is my favouritest favourite, but I've tried to branch out a bit in my prompts. I also love Sam (especially when writers let him use that brain of his) and Cas, and Charlie, and Bela, and the Trans, and a whole host of other minor characters. I'm not hugely enamoured of Gordon, Becky, or the Campbells, but I won't stamp my feet and scream if they show up in minor roles.

Other things I love: AUs -- both the ones that appear in canon and new ones thought up by ficcers; crack premises treated seriously; snark; brotherly moments; friendship moments; BAMF Cas; BAMF Linda Tran; Charlie's geeking; outsider POV; creeptastic treatment of things that are usually benign in fiction. And lots of other things that have briefly slipped my mind, probably.

I only have one cast-iron squick, and that's pregnancy fic (whether the person getting knocked up is male or female -- though, oddly, I'm okay with it when it's horror). Not that it's immensely likely to show up in a gen exchange, or in response to any of my prompts, but I suppose it's better to be safe than sorry. ;) I think I also specified 'no character bashing' in my signup, but please don't take that to mean you can't acknowledge that most of our beloved characters have done some awful things. I'm all for acknowledging shades of grey, as long as the dark's not exaggerated to the point where it becomes OOC.

Anyway, that's it! I hope you have fun writing, and thank you again! ♥

If you haven't already seen this, check out the Bunker inventory comment meme over at spn_bunker! What a great idea for a prompting meme.

Title: Away With Us
Characters/pairing: Dean, Sam, Cas, Gilda, Cain
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/contains: None
Word count: 5900
Summary: Post-S9 AU. Dean is still marked by the fae as their own, and, with the Mark of Cain gone, they begin to take an interest again. This time, he finds it harder to resist.
Notes: Incredibly belated (because that's just how me and comment memes work, apparently) response to a prompt on biketest’s Dean-centric comment meme. I wrote most of this before 9.23 aired, so it's pretty thoroughly Jossed.
Many thanks to septembers_coda for the beta! Any remaining mistakes are, of course, my own.

I've been looking forward to signing up for this one all year, and I'm so glad it's running. :) It sounds like a good one for anybody who's new or unsure, too, since the requirement's only 1000 words.

Title: Perish Twice
Characters/pairing: Dean, Sam (gen).
Rating: R
Major character death
, body horror, general S9 angst and doom.
Word count: ~5000
Summary: Sam and Dean check out what they think is an angel fallen to earth on a snowy mountainside. They find something else entirely.
Notes: spn_cinema fic, written for the movie prompt, The Thing. I started writing this a few months ago, so it takes place in a sort of early-Season-9 idea of what late Season 9 might look like. Also, it's a rather embittered Dean POV, so he's not all that nice about Sam. Sorry, Sam.
