Hello! First off, THANK YOU for signing up and for writing a thing for me! I'm going to love whatever it is, and I hope you have fun with whatever prompt(s) tickle your fancy!
Speaking of which, I definitely think of them as jumping-off points rather than prescriptions, and hopefully you will, too. I will not be offended in the least if you want to take whichever part of a prompt appeals to you and discard the rest, or tweak it to suit, or combine more than one prompt into something I never would have thought of. :)
A look at my journal might convince you that all I want for
SummerGen is angst -- and I do love it, I love it goood -- but I'm also happy reading a lot of stuff that I don't write. Humour, casefic, fluff -- it's all good!
Dean is my favouritest favourite, but I've tried to branch out a bit in my prompts. I also love Sam (especially when writers let him use that brain of his) and Cas, and Charlie, and Bela, and the Trans, and a whole host of other minor characters. I'm not hugely enamoured of Gordon, Becky, or the Campbells, but I won't stamp my feet and scream if they show up in minor roles.
Other things I love: AUs -- both the ones that appear in canon and new ones thought up by ficcers; crack premises treated seriously; snark; brotherly moments; friendship moments; BAMF Cas; BAMF Linda Tran; Charlie's geeking; outsider POV; creeptastic treatment of things that are usually benign in fiction. And lots of other things that have briefly slipped my mind, probably.
I only have one cast-iron squick, and that's pregnancy fic (whether the person getting knocked up is male or female -- though, oddly, I'm okay with it when it's horror). Not that it's immensely likely to show up in a gen exchange, or in response to any of my prompts, but I suppose it's better to be safe than sorry. ;) I think I also specified 'no character bashing' in my signup, but please don't take that to mean you can't acknowledge that most of our beloved characters have done some awful things. I'm all for acknowledging shades of grey, as long as the dark's not exaggerated to the point where it becomes OOC.
Anyway, that's it! I hope you have fun writing, and thank you again! ♥
